The example for each and every day
I am pretty sure that at this point in my life I have (and mind you, begrudgingly done so, it seems) reached a place where I am able to find things to be thankful for each day.
Today as we enjoy a beautiful cabin in the Blue Ridge, Georgia, united as a family, preparing incredible food, I find myself thankful for even the smallest things; the smell of cooking collards, the warmth of a fire, the view of mountaintops, the roughness of my dad’s hands as he hugs me regularly, the sweet kisses of my wife, the feeling of soft, cotton socks, newspapers that report accurately and with zest, the look of vintage aprons, my siblings who have each become their own dynamic people and my God who created me in such a unique way.
May the joy of this day last indefinitely for you.
