Great stuff. Perhaps a little off topic, but would you mind if I write something about this on my tomato plant blog? I will of course, cite original source and link back to your page.

Very cool and thanks for sharing. I found you thru Grit and have enjoyed reading several different posts. My readers (all probably read the Grit stuff too) will enjoy learning about this very inexpensive greenhouse. My husband and I also strive to live frugally by reusing previously discarded items and making them into something useful for our animals or whatever. Almost all my chicken feeders were made from leftover pvc pipe :).

February is the only month it gets below freezing. We are very fortunate here in Zone 3 (Southeast Region -or- Barnesville, Georgia) we have an average of 40-45 during late December, January and then again in March.

@Eric - you are right though. Pan (my wife) and I have both spent some "alone time" in the hoop house just kind of sitting and enjoying the strange heat, low light and smell of the few tomato plants.

@Justin - can't wait to see your pics. Proud of you for going forward with the project. What I have realized is that no matter what the final product looks like, it is really about how well it works!

Looks very nice. I made mine about three weeks ago but have yet to cover it with the palstic. I made two twelve foot by four foot houses that cover the existing rows I alreadt had my lettuce and collards growing in. I will send you some pics to see what you think. Have a good weekend.
