Cackleberries

For the past four weeks I have been working on the Chicken Coop and its surrounding area. This past Monday the chickens arrived (four bantam laying hens for now) and although in a bit of shock from the adjustment they managed to lay a few (as my Uncle Ronald calls them) cackleberries.

I took a pic of me with the first one. What an amazing process. It really puts things into perspective, I think.

Cool? What is a cackleberrie? I have been thinking about having chickens one day but I am not sure what the rules are in OV.

A cackleberry is an egg. The hen cackles when it lays an egg. The egg is shaped a bit like a berry. So, it is a cackleberry.
