Christmas in America is a scam! There, I said it. It is a scam. It is a mass produced holiday brought to you by the shareholders of big box stores and cheesy greeting card / candle / home interior locations whose sole purpose is to make you spend money you don’t have, may not ever have, don’t need to spend, shouldn’t be spending in an effort to appease someone who won’t be happy and may never be happy with the gift / present / certificate / candle / hot cocoa mug gift box thingee you so carelessly picked out at the last minute.

Poverty Party Tip #2 – If I have to buy it at Target and then get some Martha Stewart wrapping paper to make it look so perty under the tree….I don’t need it and chances are the recipient doesn’t either. We are making gifts this year.
