They Snuck One In
Many of you remember my musings on the Ikea blug bag also known as Big Blue. If not, check out these posts. Well, I am very anti-plastic bags. I don’t like them. I don’t like carrying them. I don’t like having to decide to throw them away or store them once home. I don’t like them floating around my street.
So, today I go to the grocery with Big Blue and “chinaman” cart to get some groceries. I point out to the bagger that I don’t want any plastic bags. I thought that would make sense. When I got home though and unpacked B.B. there it was. Lying at the bottom of the bag was a piece of meat I purchased wrapped in a plastic sack. I was upset. I mean really upset. I felt like the bagger didn’t listen to me. I felt like my efforts were for naught. And I felt like I should find a use for this bag now that I have it. So, it is not the trash liner for the bathroom trash can. Now I know I will end up throwing it away but at least it will be used for something for some amount of time - even a small one.
So, why do I care so much? Just take a look:

I think that places have to wrap meat in paper or plastic separate from everything else.

Butcher paper would have been just fine with me. I wonder if there is a renewable product that could be used just for wrapping meat. I will have to look into that.
